European Customs & Trade Manager (f/m/d)

Aufgaben

What awaits you:

In this role you will oversea all aspects of customs & trade compliance for Novelis Europe and will be the Interface with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and customers.

Your accountabilities:

• You implement and maintain regional customs & trade policies and procedures
• You provide technical advice to Novelis internal customers on customs matters e.g. Incoterms, customs valuation, rules of origin, special procedures, clearance process, documentation requirements
• You coordinate with various internal departments to negotiate, implement and influence process efficiencies improvements whilst ensuring compliance
• You establish effective regional network resources, business relationships, and contacts to ensure compliance with customs laws/regulations and facilitate tariff/duty minimization
• You lead projects, e.g. regarding automation, improvement of processes
• You are responsible for managing supplier declaration management and origin determination process across Europe
• You are responsible for legislative watch in Europe and in translating such changes to business impacts
• You will be leading the customs team of 3 people including all aspects of leadership accordingly our company culture

Profil

How you convince us:

• You successfully completed a business relevant study and you have knowledge of European export control, foreign trade & customs regulations, procedures and processes
• You bring at least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position or in consulting with leadership responsibility
• You have a strong affinity for technology and very good knowledge in SAP and Assist4
• You have proven experience in Transformation and Change Management
• Distinct analytical thinking and judgement as well as a high degree of result orientation are your strengths
• You have the ability to present legal problems in a comprehensible manner
• Strong communication skills, coupled with a high level of teamwork and proactivity distinguish you
• You are willing to travel on a regular basis
• Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken complete your profile
