Aufgaben

What awaits you:

As Data Engineer you would be joining our Global Digital Team and will aid in the optimization of operations by manipulating and aggregating the disparate operational and back-office data sources into a format that is easily digestible by both data scientists and statistically adept colleagues. Your core responsibility will be to combine large volumes of disparate complex data, conduct quality checks on the data, manipulate the data and ensure continuous access to a clean format of the operational data for data scientists and other stakeholders. In addition, you will also assist in developing the data pipeline to ensure ongoing data collection, consolidation, and management.

• You design and develop data ingestion pipelines and processes based on requirements in Python, SQL and PySpark
• You create error handling, exception management and data quality routines to expose the anomalies in the data
• You profile and analyze data to identify gaps and potential data quality issues
• You identify relationships between disparate data sources and use Python, Databricks and Spark to code the data Engineering routines
• You perform unit and integration testing
• You work with the group of data scientists and business SMEs to get the requirements and present the data profile, develop the data architecture and ensure security and maintenance
• Furthermore, you explore suitable options, design and create data pipeline (data lake / data warehouses) for specific analytical solutions
• You identify gaps and implement solutions for data security, integrity and automation of processes
• You build data tools and products for effort automation and easy data accessibility and support maintenance, bug fixing and performance analysis along as well as diagnose existing architecture and data maturity

Profil

How you convince us:

• You hold a university degree on bachelor level in computer science or similar, master degree is a plus
• You bring at least 2-3 years of experience
• You have passion for data engineering in the manufacturing sector
• You have proven expertise in working with SQL and Python
• You have the ability to work with and communicate to various stakeholders and tell a compelling story with data
• You are self-driven, working independently, well-organized and have excellent communication and presentation skills
• You have a good technical understanding and are able to put this into a business context
• You know how to positively manage change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Business fluent in English and German is required, French language skills are a plus
